Short-Term Rehab Story

Following her total knee replacement surgery, Katie thought she had chosen the right place for her short-term rehabilitation program. After a mere week of therapy, she states she was discharged and permitted to return home. Katie says she “went home in shock” because she knew she wasn’t ready to be on her own. That very day, she had her family take her to The Waters of Batesville, in hopes of getting some additional rehabilitation services. At the time of her admission, Katie required the use of a walker. Upon discharge from The Waters, she was using a cane for longer distances and no assistive devices for short walks. Katie was extremely pleased with her stay stating “It was quality therapy and certainly led to my healing and recovery.”  When Katie returned to the orthopedic hospital in Moorsville, Indiana for a surgery follow-up visit, she states that the director of the therapy department was amazed at her progress and stated that it was “one of the best recoveries she had ever seen.”  Due to her successful rehabilitation at The Waters, Katie has been able to resume her favorite activities. She recently traveled to Washington to visit her daughter, and swims regularly at the local YMCA.
